"It's a lovely way to spend an evening with an old pal because for once, you don't wake up and go to work the next day feeling awful, instead you've learnt something new. It's a productive yet relaxing way to spend a work night. You get surprisingly far in the two hour session and play a range of new and old songs. Everyone strums away, often playing the wrong chord at the wrong time whilst also bellowing/singing. It's like the most fun school assembly you've ever been to. With a bar."
Lorraine welcomed me with open arms and I was totally surprised as I've only liked her posts on facebook. So immediately I knew that it was going to be a good taster. The uke's were stacked liked brightly coloured candies and when we got asked what colour we would like to adopt for the session, it was like the brief excitement of being a child again! It was a balance of informal but structured, fun but challenging and everyone was enjoying themselves immensely. Lorraine has a wonderful accessible ethos!
Relaxed and informal, with a very lovely teacher who took the time to make sure no one was being left behind, it got us so enthused that we have bought a house ukulele and can't wait to move onto the next level! Who knew that so many adults would have so much fun playing 'In the jungle' together?!
Took the class with a friend and it was a great laugh the entire time! I didn't think I would actually learn a song since I am horrible at any instrument I have ever picked up BUT I acutally did it! Honestly it was such a fun afternoon... beers and ukes... no better combo! Great class!
If you have no musical experience - like me- this is the best place to start. Lorraine is super friendly and makes sure no one is left behind. It gave me the confidence to buy my own uke and cary on playing!
